Award Winning SpaSalon “Opens its Doors to Our Future”

Next teen night dates are May 13, 2008 and June 10, 2008.

SPRINGFIELD, VA - In an effort to improve “teen self-esteem”, The Kindest Cut SpaSalon hosts Teen Night every second Tuesday of the month from 4 PM to 7 PM throughout the entire calendar year. For each Teen Night, the SpaSalon “closes the door to its adult clientele and opens them to our future.”

During this unique special event, local teens and teens visiting the Washington, DC metropolitan area are invited into the salon for a fun, image-enhancing experience filled with free grooming education and before and after photos, special teen packages and refreshments.

In the very transcient Washington, DC area, teens have moved from all parts of the world. These teens typically look for salon professionals who can work with different hair textures and have a more global understanding of beautycare. A teen from New York for example, has a different view on grooming and beauty than a teen does from the Middle East. The Kindest Cut SpaSalon staff is very culturally diverse and provides teens with “homestyle” service coupled with westernized beautycare knowledge, which makes the transition to a new home much easier for a teen.

At Teen Night, the SpaSalon’s normal soothing music is substituted with the likes of Sheryl Crow, Barenaked Ladies, Phish and Third Eye Blind. The usual proper dress from the professional staff is discarded and replaced with jeans. The gourmet coffee and Spa lunch is returned to the kitchen and out comes soda and popcorn.

“Teen Night is a fun time, but we have serious and important goals throughout the program,” explained LeeAnn Nelbach, owner of The Kindest Cut SpaSalon. “We want to provide our youth with an alternative outlet for a clean, safe experience. We also want to provide our young adults with the necessary grooming tips to make them look better and feel more confident about themselves. It’s very difficult growing up as a teen in today’s image-conscience society. We provide young women and men with important grooming and beauty advice, new exciting styles and an opportunity to ask salon experts questions they may not feel comfortable asking someone else.”

Teen Consultations - At Teen Night, the Kindest Cut salon professionals offer customized consultations and work with each teen on a personal level. Through this personalized service, teens feel at ease and more confident in selecting a slightly new look or a total makeover. Consultation topics range from selecting a hairstyle to match facial features and at-home styling tips to dealing with problem skin and how to prepare for special events like Prom.

SpaSalon Background - The Kindest Cut SpaSalon has been voted a “Top Salon” by the Washingtonian Magazine. It has also been the recipient of the prestigious “Top 200” award from Salon Today Magazine, which honored The Kindest Cut has one of the top 200 salons in the United States.
